“The Hong Kong Jockey Club Series: A History of the World in 100 Objects from the British Museum” is an exhibition that shows more than two million years of world history with 100 items from the British Museum collection. Going along with this theme but adding Hong Kong characteristics, Curators have written a novella entitled A Day in Time - 1935 Hong Kong, Illustrated with 100 Period Objects to recreate a period in local history. Our team designed an installation in the form of a giant three-dimensional book, which shows several scenes from the story such as a Chinese family home in a tenement building, a photographic studio, a street, and a mansion in the Mid-Levels of Central District. Visitors can walk into scenes from life in old Hong Kong as portrayed in the story and reminisce about the past through the period objects, presented through multimedia and interactive programmes.
